Formula 1 heads to the Marina Bay Street Circuit for the final leg of our triple-header, and after two eventful weekends in Baku and Malaysia, we now arrive at one of the most demanding races of the entire season: the Singapore Grand Prix.
Last weekend in Sepang gave us plenty of drama. Max Verstappen finally broke through for his first victory of the 2026 season, Kimi Antonelli finished second to extend his championship lead, and George Russell suffered a heartbreaking late retirement while running inside the top three.
Now the championship moves to the streets of Singapore, with another huge weekend ahead under the lights at Marina Bay.
Here are my predictions for the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix.
1. Kimi Antonelli — Mercedes
I have Kimi Antonelli returning to the top step of the podium in Singapore.
Antonelli may not have won in Malaysia, but second place was still another excellent result for the championship leader. With Russell retiring late, Kimi now holds a commanding 84-point advantage in the Drivers’ Championship.
Singapore should give Mercedes another opportunity to fight at the front, and I expect Antonelli to capitalize.
The Marina Bay Street Circuit leaves very little room for error. Between the walls, the heat, the humidity and the physical demands of the race, maintaining concentration is crucial. Antonelli has continued to show maturity beyond his years throughout this championship campaign, and I think that continues under the lights.
My prediction: Kimi Antonelli wins the Singapore Grand Prix and takes another major step toward his first Formula 1 World Championship.
2. George Russell — Mercedes
I’m predicting a Mercedes 1-2 in Singapore, with George Russell finishing second.
Malaysia was brutal for Russell. He was running third and was set for another strong result before a late power-unit problem ended his race with only a handful of laps remaining.
That retirement was devastating for his championship hopes, especially with Antonelli finishing second, but Russell still has plenty to race for.
More importantly, George returns to a circuit where he was absolutely brilliant last season. Russell won the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix from pole position, and his qualifying performance was one of the highlights of his career. He produced what I believe was the best pole lap of his career, setting a new Marina Bay track record with a 1:29.158 before controlling the race from the front on Sunday.
We have already seen George deliver on street circuits again this season, including his incredible battle with Verstappen in Baku. Now he returns to a track where he knows he can be extremely quick.
I expect Russell to bounce back immediately from the disappointment in Malaysia and give Mercedes a huge result with a second-place finish.
3. Max Verstappen — Red Bull
Rounding out my podium is Max Verstappen.
It took longer than anyone expected, but Max finally has his first victory of 2026.
Verstappen took pole in Malaysia and went on to win a chaotic race, beating Antonelli and ending Red Bull’s winless start to the season. Whatever struggles Red Bull has experienced this year, you can never count Max out when he has a car capable of competing near the front.
I don’t think he makes it two victories in a row, but I absolutely expect him to be in the fight.
Singapore is unforgiving, and Verstappen’s experience should be valuable around Marina Bay. I’m taking Max to complete the podium behind the two Mercedes drivers.
My Singapore Grand Prix Podium Prediction
1. Kimi Antonelli — Mercedes
2. George Russell — Mercedes
3. Max Verstappen — Red Bull
The final leg of the triple-header is here.
Kimi Antonelli enters Singapore with an 84-point championship lead, George Russell desperately needs a response after his heartbreaking retirement in Malaysia, and Max Verstappen arrives with momentum after finally securing his first victory of the season.
I’m predicting Mercedes to leave Singapore with a statement 1-2, led by the championship leader himself.
Kimi Antonelli wins under the lights at Marina Bay.
