Welcome to the first-ever EST Elite NFL rankings. These rankings are not just about records. They are about who we believe are the best teams in football right now. Every week, teams will have the opportunity to rise, fall, or completely drop out of the Elite.
1. Seattle Seahawks
The defending Super Bowl champions start exactly where they belong: at the top. Seattle finished last season with one of football’s most dominant defenses and ultimately lifted the Lombardi Trophy. Until somebody proves otherwise, the champs own the throne.
2. Los Angeles Rams
The Rams were already one of the NFL’s best teams, and somehow their roster became even scarier. Adding Myles Garrett and bringing Aaron Donald back gives Los Angeles the potential to field a ridiculous defense alongside an elite offense. Seattle may have the crown, but the Rams are coming for it.
3. Buffalo Bills
As long as Josh Allen is under center, Buffalo belongs near the top of any NFL ranking. A coaching change creates some uncertainty, but the Bills remain loaded enough to compete for the AFC. After years of coming close, the question remains the same: can Buffalo finally finish the job?
4. Houston Texans
Houston’s defense is terrifying. That unit alone gives them a chance against anyone in football. If C.J. Stroud and the offense can take another step forward, Houston could become much more than simply a playoff team.
5. New England Patriots
Going from four wins to representing the AFC in the Super Bowl earns respect. New England enters 2026 with Drake Maye coming off an MVP-caliber season and even more weapons around him. Now comes the difficult part: proving last year’s incredible run wasn’t a one-year wonder.
6. Denver Broncos
Denver established itself as one of the AFC’s best teams last season, and we’re not treating that like an accident. With a strong defense, continuity, and another year of development for Bo Nix, the Broncos enter 2026 with legitimate expectations instead of simply being a fun young team.
7. San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco continues to find ways to contend, and Kyle Shanahan remains one of the best coaches in football. There are legitimate questions about age and health across the roster, which keeps the 49ers from starting higher, but nobody should be surprised if they’re still playing deep into January.
8. Philadelphia Eagles
Last season didn’t end the way Philadelphia wanted, but there is still far too much talent here to dismiss the Eagles. A revamped offense and another talented defense give Philadelphia everything it needs to climb this list quickly.
9. Chicago Bears
Chicago took a major step forward last season, and Year 2 of the Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson partnership could make them even more dangerous. The Bears have earned their place inside the first EST Elite Top 10. Now they have to show that last year’s breakthrough was only the beginning.
10. Green Bay Packers
The Packers grab the final spot based on one thing: consistency. Three straight playoff appearances show that Green Bay belongs in the conversation, but they still have another level they need to reach. They start inside EST Elite, but that spot is far from safe.
That is the first-ever EST Elite NFL Top 10.
The rankings are set, the preseason debates are over, and now it is time for football. Now let’s see how the EST Elite changes as we kick off the season.
