HOF Game Takeaways, Cardinals got their Guy?

With the return of the NFL after what felt like an eternity, last night we finally got the Hall of Fame Game featuring the Panthers and Cardinals.

The biggest point I’d like to take away from the game is this: Did the Cardinals find a serviceable franchise QB in Carson Beck?

I’m not saying Carson Beck is going to be a multiple time MVP, Super Bowl MVP, or anything crazy like that. But one thing is for sure, to succeed in the NFL, you need reps and experience.

Carson played six years of college ball, including three years as a starter, finishing with a 37 and 6 record as a starter and over 11,000 passing yards. That experience showed last night. Beck was efficient, completing 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards and a TD.

We saw some sweet deep throws, good field vision, and an overall level of maturity at the QB position that the Cardinals could definitely use.

I’m not saying Beck should automatically be the Day 1 starter, especially after one preseason game. But I do believe that if the Cardinals give him the opportunity to play, they have a great shot at winning games with him. His maturity and experience give Cardinals fans something they could really use right now:

Hope at the QB position.

Or the Cardinals can throw away another season and see how the fans respond. The choice is theirs.
